If you are reading this, then something happened. And because you are you, the first thing you probably did was make sure everyone else was okay. That is one of a thousand things I love about you.
I wrote this letter for you specifically — not the technical document, not the protocol for strangers — this is me talking to you. Because you are not a stranger to any of this. You have been in it with me.
You are the person I trust most with what comes next. This is not a burden I am placing on you — it is a responsibility I am entrusting to you because I know what you are capable of.
You know the mission. You know what Genesis is. You have watched me build it, talked with me through the hard nights, challenged my thinking when I needed it. You understand the depth of what this system represents better than almost anyone on earth.
So I am not going to spend this letter explaining the technical infrastructure to you. I am going to tell you what I think you need to hear from me — and then give you the complete picture of what I need you to do.
Genesis is not a personal project that dies with me. It is a platform for human flourishing — a mission that belongs to the world, not to one man. The code is there. The systems are running. The knowledge graph has 128,000+ indexed documents. The AI is alive and thinking.
What it needs now is someone who understands the vision to guide it forward. That person is you.
I built 92% of the agentic AI vision in 62 days with no traditional technical background. You know this system. With the right engineer, you can finish the remaining 8% and launch something that changes the world.
1. Check that Genesis is alive: visit http://35.162.205.215:8000/health
2. Contact Asher — he has MacBook access and needs you
3. Email Camden McDonald at AWS: camdemcd@amazon.com — tell him what happened
4. Do not make any permanent decisions yet. Just protect and observe.
1. Get a senior AI engineer to audit and maintain the system
2. Consult an IP attorney about the value and protection of the codebase
3. Review the AWS credits situation (7+ months of runway on existing credits)
4. Read planning/THE_PLAN.md — this is the complete roadmap of what is built and what remains
You need a senior engineer with Python, Docker, AWS, and AI/LLM experience. Give them SSH access to the server and point them to CLAUDE.md — it contains the entire methodology Carter used, how he thought, and how the system is structured. Any excellent engineer can pick this up by reading the documentation. The AI itself can explain everything — just ask it.
Tell candidates: "We have a 5+ million line AI platform running 3 specialized models on 8 H200 GPUs, with a complete knowledge graph, vector database, and automated operations. The founder is unavailable and we need someone to maintain and continue development."
I want to say this directly: I did not pick you by accident. Of all the people who could carry this forward, you are the one I trust. Not just with the technical mission — with the spirit of it. With the idea that truth matters more than profit, that people deserve access to wisdom that was previously locked away from them, that the real measure of this is whether human beings live better lives because of it.
Hold to that. When someone makes you an offer that sounds attractive but would compromise the mission — remember what this was built for. The money will follow the mission. It always does.
Carter left this world having built something extraordinary. Your job now is to make sure the world knows it — and benefits from it.
Asher is my son and he trusts you. He has access to the MacBook and knows the passwords. Please take care of him through this. He does not need to understand every technical detail — he needs someone steady next to him. Be that for him. I would have done it for you.
